We had a special speaker for our service and oh boy, what a delivery. This topic, your day of reckoning, makes you dig real deep. There are so many levels to where you are in your walk. There is the level of faith, do you believe? How much and how do you believe? Has the Lord changed your life around from where it was before?
Coming closer to the day when the Lord will return we have to ask ourselves, have we surrendered our life completely over to the King of King’s, Jesus. Have we? The question is open ended I think in a way. Yes, we may have become reborn in the name of Jesus and surrendered our life to Him. That is beautiful and that is the beginning to a life long walk in the glory of Christ.
But what about your daily walk? Are you reading your bible faithfully? Are you praying and keeping the lines of communication open with Jesus? Do you pick up your cross daily, surrender your life daily? Walking with Christ is not an easy task.
We are called to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. To speak the truth about repentance and sin. To pray for our enemies, to love our neighbor, to be kind, gentle, tender and loving. These are sometimes the most difficult things to do especially when we are filled with self, pride, ego and we, me, I have to stop. Somewhere I heard that if someone angers you or rubs you the wrong way that it is not them, it’s you!
This world is built on self, doing what makes you feel better and not what is best for the other person. Our time is running out and when it does there is no going back. This surrender must be done daily and sometimes minute by minute. The pressures of life are not easy and they don’t know when to stop. They will put a hold on you and unless we use the armor of God, pray, and use our 24/7 open line of communication to Jesus, it is super easy for us to fail in that moment.
Rid yourself of self, we DO NOT drive this bus! The judgement seat may seem far off but all it takes is death and it’s too late.
