1 Corinthians 10:16 “Communion” with Jack Hibbs

Last night was a little bit different than what we usually expect. There was not a bible verse to follow so I just added 1 Corinthians 10:16, “The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the [e]communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?” This seemed fitting to me.

We did have a full night of worship and that was amazing, as it always is.

What I got out of last night’s service was this; We as a nation, as a person who is a Christ follower are so fortunate to be able to worship our King Jesus. I can fellowship with those around me freely about what the Lord is to me and what He does for others, I can roll out of bed, read my bible with no worries, I can pray by myself or with others without persecution so far, what a gift.

We are so entitled being Americans in the land of the free and the brave. We take advantage of all the liberties we have here in this U.S. of A. I am so grateful, thankful, and humbled for the relationship I have with my savior, my maker, the one who died on a cross for MY sin. I don’t think about what if I didn’t have all of these luxuries to worship, fellowship, read my bible, pray out loud and speak the name of Jesus outside of my thought process. Maybe I should start!

As I was taking the communion bread I understood that Jesus told us to take of His body and when I drink the juice it was in relation to drinking the blood of Christ. The man in human form, God the maker of all and all in between. Jesus died on that cross by His own will. He stood where none has ever walked and no man can ever come close.

Last night made me realize that not only am I the daughter of the Most High King but He knew me from before the foundations were laid. That my friend is awe inspiring. I pray you take some time to reflect on exactly what Jesus means to you and the relationship you truly want with Him. It does come at a cost but I bet you it’s a lot cheaper than your life lost in the eternal pits of hell.
